Therapy Dog Training and Testing

We are holding therapy dog tests approximately once a month (first Saturday at noon). If you and your dog are interested in becoming a therapy dog team, please call or email to schedule a test.

Does your dog have what it takes to be a Canine Good Citizen or Therapy Dog?

Olympic Mountain Pet Pals is sponsoring American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog Registration tests.  All dogs are welcome.

The testing is done in a spacious indoor facility with a rubber-matted floor in Chimacum at Lucky Dog Training Center. For more information and to schedule a test, please contact Georgia Towle at (360) 732-0908,
theluckydogtraining@gmail.com.

The Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Test alone (with no interest in participating in our therapy dog programs) is $10 and, by passing, your dog officially becomes an AKC CGC.  While applying for a CGC certificate is not required, if you wish to receive one, there is an additional cost of $5 that is paid directly to AKC.

OM Pet Pals Therapy Dog Test combines the CGC Test with additional questions. To participate in our therapy dog programs, we ask that you make an annual $25 donation to OM Pet Pals which goes toward providing $2M liability insurance for our volunteers.

Lucky Dog Training offers a CGC/Therapy dog test preparation class, on request.  Please, call for prices and scheduling.

Passing the OM Pet Pals Therapy Dog Test is required for all dogs wishing to participate in the READ to ROVER program and/or the Pets to People program.

Please print out the following form, fill it out, and bring it with you to the test:
